I'M OK--GOSH I HOPE YOU ARE

I want to thank everyone who stopped by when I was  in the dark. You are so special and seeing all your kind words and concern when the lights went on again was very heart warming. You are all the very best. Thank you for being there.

Just to let you know I had no damage out side of having to play pick up sticks and losing power and phone for a day.  I am feeling totally blessed.

This has just been a ghastly series of monster storms hitting many states.  The 128 death toll I heard this AM  is mind boggling. Sadly, that figure will probably get bigger.

I do hope none of you are still in the path of this mess and if you are, I do pray you stay safe.

I will be back to blogging tomorrow.  Please stay safe and thank you for caring.  I'll stop by your blogs now to see if you are all right.

  2. Happy you are peppy as always. Playing pick up sticks. That's another game from the past. I hadn't heard about the death toll. You take care of yourself. There's only 2 days left of this A-Z thing so then I can think of something else.
    Love and peace

  3. That was an ugly storm. I hope we can all look forward to a summer filled with blue skies and only the gentlest of breezes. The whole world is due.
So glad you are okay and left with only sticks to contend with. My heart breaks for those in the direct path of this callous destruction.

  4. I also am glad you are safe, and sorry for all the terrible storms hitting your part of the country. We just have cold, wind, rain and snow here in the PNW.

  8. Hi Patti,

Oh, I am so glad that you okay! This is all so scary. What do you think that the rest of us can do to help the storm victims?

  10. So, so glad to hear from you I have thought about you so much. We have been and are still picking up limbs and twigs. We were without power a few times too.

We are fine here some of our neighbors had damage to their home and lives were lost not too far from us. We feel very blessed as well. Praying for all those who have not been so blessed during all the horrific storms and flooding.

Thank you, for letting us know that you are okay. Hugs

  11. Patti, it has been a crazy couple of weeks. We in Atlanta fully expected to be blown away last night, but we weren't. I kept waking up to see if I was alive.

  12. Glad everything is ok with you. We had quite a storm last night, I slept through it. I was really, really tired. Sun was out today, but it's clouding over again. We had a steady little rain for about ten mins. Now sun is trying to shine again. Hard to believe Sunday is May 1st. all ready.

  14. Southwest Arkie,
I am glad you are OK. This series of storms have been astounding. At least we have a two day breather.

    Manzanita,
That death toll just keeps climbing. I am just stunned by these storms. Stay cool and safe in Montana.

    Olga,
Each news update is more mind boggling. There was just no defense with those storms. A quiet summer would be a blessing.

    Djan,
Thanks. I don't think there is a part of the country experiencing "normal." Maybe summer???

    Linda in NM,
Thank you so much for your caring. We can only hope we have seen the worst of it. So many lives destroyed.

    Cheryl,
I am so glad you have been spared. May it stay that way.

    Blue Ridge Boomer,
    Thank you. I feel blessed.

    Brighid,
Thanks so much. Just a case of nerves and no power here. I was hugely lucky.

    Oregon gifts,
Kathy, I gave to the Red Cross after each of our storms here, mainly because I have personally been helped by them 3 times in my life. I plan to give again for the other states that have been hammered. I understand the Salvation Army is also in the damaged areas. Either one will help. Thank you.

    rosaria,
For a while it seemed unending. I'm still not sure all the damage is over with.

    Mumsy,
I am so glad you are OK. With our blogging families so spread out, out concern becomes personal in events like this. I know your area was hit hard.

    marciamayo,
I was worried about you when it headed your way. So glad you were spared all but the anxiety which can be pretty intense.

    Patty,
Hope that is all you get. Lets hope May puts all this violence to bed.

    nacodoches,
So glad you are OK. We sure could use some of your protective "hot air". Surely this is the last threat.

  15. Patti,
The damage and destruction has been remarkable; just unbeleiveable. I have a friend in Alabama and there is so much devastation there. Her school is damaged and she said it's just unbelievable.I am so thankful you are safe...
take good care of yourself! PS: I did a great job of living in the moment and not wishing it were Friday today! I was actually quite proud of myself...

  16. I finally got here Patti....I was concerned about you and I am glad to read you survived these Horrific Storms with no terrible damage....Being without electricity and a phone can certainly be very difficult, so I'm glad you have both back now---Let's hope you continue to be safe and sound, my dear.

  17. Hi Patti, I hope that that is the last big Spring Storm of 2011.. We've had enough... I'm going to have a chat with Mother Nature (not that she listens to me). ha

Let's pray for all who lost so much due to the Tornadoes on Wednesday. We were some of the lucky ones.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

Proud of you. Keep it up and it will become habit.

    OOLOH,
I know how lucky I was and thank you for caring. My heart is still sore for the people who suffered so.

    Betsy,

Give Mom Nature the what for from me also when you have her ear. This is really getting scary. Glad you dodged the bullet.
