UPDATE
Quickie update. I haven't heard from the doctor yet but the technician said my tests looked good so I am taking his word and am pretty sure that no news from the doctor as good news.
After I left the hospital, I drove directly to McDonald's to quiet my growling stomach. Three days without solid food was enough!!! I broke all heart healthy rules and got a cheeseburger and fries. First red meat in over a year.
I was a bit amused by the noises I was making while wolfing down the tasty bad stuff. Oooh, ummm, groan, ahhhh. Obviously distracted driving.
Kind of glad though that I got the order to go. Otherwise there would have been a bunch of people in McDonald's wanting what I was having.

Ha ha, I can picture you now! So glad thenews sounds good. As they say, no news is good news.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joey. I'm a firm believer in that.
DeleteGreat visual! Nothing makes a meal tastier than a good dose of hunger beforehand. Glad your test results were good!
ReplyDeleteOTP.
DeleteThanks and glad you got the visual. Sometimes hunger might be a good idea to perk up our taste buds.
Our own little Meg Ryan of the Blog World. ;)
ReplyDeleteOlga,
DeleteThe vision of Meg was in my head as I groaned my pleasure.
Burger King is my first-meal place of choice.
ReplyDeleteNot even sure that town has a BK which is also my favorite. I just had to sin and sin fast.
DeleteAmazing what real hunger will cause us to do. Congratulations on a good report.
ReplyDeleteLinda,
DeleteThanks, it was a relief. Probably all our meals would improve if we waited till we were hungry to eat.
Now you made me hungry for a burger and I haven't had meat in a year either. Glad that these tests are over with and hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteInger,
DeleteThanks, me too. Hope you are able to satisfy your need for grease. Or maybe better if you don't--but it sure tasted good.
That McD's is bad stuff, but when ever I'm on a road trip I make sure there is no where else to eat.
ReplyDeletejoeh,
DeleteIt is a grease feast and normally I avoid that place like the plague. I was just crazy hungry and it was the closest.
Glad your only real news is about McDonald's!!
ReplyDeleteFran,
DeleteMe too. I can cross those things off my possibility list.
Bet that cheeseburger and fries DID taste good... I try not to eat that stuff either --but every once in awhile, I just have to have a hot dog/chili...... YUM... When I eat that, I feel like I've died and gone to heaven...ha ha
ReplyDeleteHope your news IS all good news.. I am keeping you in my prayers.
Hugs,
Betsy
Betsy,
DeleteBoy it is true. Absence does make the taste buds sharper.
Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. I believe they are working.
You've reminded me that it's been ages since I had a cheeseburger. G lad to heard about that good report.
ReplyDeleteStephen,
DeleteThank you and it was just as good as remembered.
Yay! I'm so glad things are looking good. You just made we want a burger and fries, too.
ReplyDeleteOh darn. Not "we." I meant "me." My brain is not doing well.
DeleteKay,
DeleteThat is OK, I read it the right way anyway. My brain must be on your wave length.
I think moderation is the key. You will not be hurt by one wild moment.
ReplyDeleteGlad the news is good.
Gail,
DeleteYou are right. It didn't set me down the burger trail but that one sure was good.
Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteToo bad you didn't stay inside and have a Harry sitting across from you. You would have won an oscar for that
performance.
Your tests.....sounds good!
Manzi,
DeleteHa ha. That scene has always cracked me up so it tickled me that I was unconsciously reliving the sounds.
I get it. Today, after hearing a lecture from my endocrinologist on losing weight, and after having my A1C checked, I indulged by eating the most amazing hamburger I have ever tasted.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that the initial test reports are good.
Sally,
DeleteDon't they taste sooooo much better after a long absence. Maybe next year I'll so another.
Thank you, me too.
I got the Meg Ryan thing too! And I do want what you're having!
ReplyDeleteHopefully no news is good news.
Linda R.
DeleteSo glad you caught that also. The sounds surprised me at first, then tickled me.
Thank you, I'm pretty sure I can relax a bit.
I'm a dedicated carnivore, so I try not to go very long without a good old burger. In fact, I'm planning to have one this weekend. Until then, it's chicken, chicken, chicken and maybe a little port,
ReplyDeleteBetty,
DeleteSure can relate to that chicken menu. I usually throw in turkey to break it up. Sigh.
Betty,

Glad that you are able to get those taste buds happy again. Lovely to see the sense of humour bubbling away too! Pxx
ReplyDeletePeter,
DeleteThanks and I am glad to see the humor back also. I've missed it.
We are all health nuts looking for an excuse to head to McDonalds!! It is always a Big Mac for me. So happy for your good report.
ReplyDeleteAnnie,
DeleteThanks so much. Those salty fries were pretty darn special also.
My goodness, this post really resonated with a lot of your commenters. I confess that I haven't eaten red meat or a burger in so many decades that I've lost the desire. But if I were as hungry as you were, that might have changed. :-)
ReplyDeleteDjan,
DeleteI think most people of a certain age have had to give up something we love for health reasons. It becomes the forbidden food, thus so much tastier.
Your hilarious thinking that your cheeseburger had red meat in it...I am not sure what is in those "cheeseburgers" but I do not think it can be described as real meat....just saying.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad for the good report.
Ha ha, you are so right about the question of red meat. I once heard they were made from worms.
DeleteWell, certain foods CAN be orgasmic (especially if they're forbidden...). Back to healthy eating now!
ReplyDeleteBarb,
DeleteThat is so true and it was. Yep, back on the wagon again.
LOL, LOL....I would have done the same thing, my dear Patti.....Hoping that the News is Good!!!!
ReplyDeleteAh Naomi, I knew you would get the "Harry met Sally" reference:))
DeleteBy the way, I really missed your take on the Oscars. Hope you get back to blogging soon. You have been missed.
Yes! Sometimes an occasional bad food is just that good! So glad you indulged with such pleasure.
ReplyDeleteDr. Kathy,
DeleteI have no desire to repeat but it sure was great at the time.
I have always said the same thing...that no news is good news. They would have called immediately if something was wrong, I believe. I'm so glad they haven't called! lol! on the McD's food. Hope you're having a good week, take care!
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
DeleteThanks. So far still no news so I am pretty sure all is good. Back at ya on the good week.
I knew there was something about your hamburger delight that reminded me of something, I just couldn't remember what. Oh, so glad I read through the comments to see. Very funny! Hope all the news is good.
ReplyDeletePS-- I've been re-reading your old post on the rose thorn injury because Roger has a bit of a painful swollen knuckle after a thorn prick. Doc says to wait and see.
robin,
DeleteThat is my second highest post for hits. I do hope they keep an eye on Roger's knuckle. Surprised they have not given him any meds. Only good thoughts your way that it will resolve itself.
Aren't we funny creatures ... absolutely thrilled to be breaking the rules. All other creatures just eat what they want and don't think twice about it !
ReplyDeleteGinnie,
DeleteAh the thrill of the forbidden. Now days for me, more is forbidden than allowed.
I'm late to hear the news, but glad you finally got to eat!
