"HAPPY" HAD A WONDERFUL TIME

Somehow to say I had a wonderful time seems a bit lame. Maybe if I underline wonderful three times, it would come closer. The trip down had been interesting to say the least, thanks to an out dated GPS program but that is for another telling.

I had spent two really great days with my brother on Lake Seminole in Chattahooche, Fl which is also for another post. The trip had been a bit rough on an old body so as I was cruising down my sisters street, I was so pleased to see the welcome sign my niece Keri has posted on the mail box. That really made me feel special , welcome, and suddenly not a bit tired.

It was so wonderful seeing every one. I can only say I have been gone way too long. Then I got to meet the fabulous Kaleigh that I have a million pictures of and a cool video that her mom Keri made for me. This is the same child that had christened me "Happy."

Below is when we finally met. To quote Keri, "All those phone conversations and finally a real hug."

Finally I also got to hold Courtney Rose who has been christened "Norney" by her big sister. Well there goes my "Courtney Rose" wish. I will just have to be that dreaded great aunt that calls her by her full name. This was the best baby ever. She totally ignored the partying and mostly slept.

Below is about my favorite picture of Kaleigh that her mom took. I will say here that I have 140 pictures after weeding out the technical errors and errant backs of heads. Keri had about 180. Be grateful that I am showing restraint here.

Below is my delightful niece Keri and her two wonderful babies. There maybe a nicer person on this earth than Keri but I haven't met them. I am just so blessed that I can call Keri family. This girl spent a good portion of the 26th at the drugstore going over all her pictures and printing up about 80 of them, put them in an album for me and then writing comments about each picture in the wee hours while we all slept on my last night there. I love you so much Keri.

I stayed with my Sister Jan but the other sister Charlene (my book critic) was with us most of the time and we sisters really had fun. Below is grandma Charlene and her grandson Luke. The picture isn't too clear but I just love it for the enthusiasm. Charlene has the ability to crack me up. Absolutely zinger type wit.

Below is my niece Jill holding her nephew Grant. Isn't it fun to be an aunt Jill ? Ryan (my nephew and the daddy) is breeding future linebackers for the Dolphins. Both his boys are just solid and so handsome.

Below is a group shot. It took about 6 shots to get all the kids pointed the same way. Left to right, sister Charlene, her hubby Bernie, Kelli's aunt Judy, Happy(me), in hat,Tom, who is Jan's hubby, sister Jan, Kim, nephew Doug, niece Jill, her hubby Luis,
In front, Kaleigh, my niece Kelli, Keri holding Courtney Rose, Renee holding Grant and nephew Ryan holding Luke. Hope you paid attention, there will be a quiz.

Below is a picture of sister Jan and all her girls. Courtney, Keri, Jan, Kelli and Kaleigh. Kaleigh really loves her aunt Kelli.

Finally, I'll bet you thought you would never read that word "finally", the three sisters. We have realized that we have been apart way too long and while phones and emails are great, in person is better. Hopefully we can plan a girls get together in Arkansas soon. Thank you so much sisters for such a wonderful time. Think I will practice on Wii though before we try again Jan. She whooped me bad.

So as you can see, I had a marvelous time. Got tons of new wrinkles from grinning. Had a funny thing happen with my glasses (no they weren't on my head) but that and my visit with brother Jim are for another post.

I do hope you all had a wonderful holidays also. Lets get ready for a grand New Year everyone. I'll be catching up with you all soon. I've missed you.

Thank you so much for all the good wishes on my blogiversary. Blogging would be such a silly thing to do with out YOU.

  1. Oh, Patti, I enjoyed looking at the photos and meeting your wonderful family. I'm glad someone thought to take pictures. What a terrific niece--I can imagine how you'll treasure that album. (Those children are DOLLS!)

I think our get together has gone completely unrecorded this year. Never mind--my tired bones will remember for awhile!

    Happy New Year.

  6. Ah, you can see the love in your photos (the sign made me tear up)! So glad you were able to visit your beautiful family and that you had such a great time!! Was that your first time playing wii? My family has a blast playing (and watching others play) wii sports. It must be fairly good exercise as our arms are always really sore the next day. Happy New Year Happy! : )

  7. Usually never at a loss for words, I don't know where to start .. this post was FABULOUS !!!!

What I loved the most - The 2 little hearts on the poster Keri made with K & C .. Signifying the 2 little girls !!! What a rousing welcome.

I'm prepared for the quiz. A challenge always excites me. Tell me, do U want to know what Kaleigh is wearing? Or the colour of the gentleman's hat? :-D

    3 cheers to Happy!!

Isn't she amazing? I do know what you mean about those "tired bones." I am just now getting a bit of my energy back. Ah to be young again.

    Wanda,
Thank you so much. I know I am prejudiced but I think they are really special.
    Stories are on the way.

    Sunny,
The cool album my niece made plus the 100 plus pictures I took should tide me over for a while. Have the best New Year ever.

    Nezzy,
Welcome to this part of the Ozarks and to TNS. Thank you so much for stopping by, Will pop over to visit you.

    robin,
Thank you. It was wonderful to be all together like that. I suddenly realized how much I missed them. Electronics are great but in person is so much better.

    Jewels,
The sign got to me too. It was totally unexpected. Yes, Wii can be good exercise. I even hurt my back a bit bowling but could never beat my sis. She always was the better bowler and it was my first time on Wii.

    lostworld,
I think the sign was perfect and those hearts darling. Keri is so clever and hopelessly sweet.
Ok, your quiz is, who was under that hat?

    kenju
Thanks Judy. Kaleigh is not only a cutie but REALLY smart. This is a child who will someday make you stand in line to see her.
Loved the visit but needed to get back to catch my breath.

    Reader Wil,
Thank you Wil. It really was a wonderful time.Wouldn't trade a minute of it.

    4th Sister

  12. A very enjoyable time was had in this household looking at your family photos and reading your post. What a lovely family you are. I see that many of you are resplendent in red attire which feels really like Christmas some how. A sweet gesture, putting out the welcome sign like that for you, and I'm sure it really lifted your spirits! It is interesting how it is the "little" things that can often be the most wonderful and memorable.

I really enjoyed what you had to say in your bloganniversary post. The blog must have made a huge difference to the year that you had with all the new people that you have reached with your writing and comments. You'll probably be amazed at the amount of writing that you have done too, with doing some most days like you have.

Happy New Year to you, and thanks for making so many of us from all around the world feel like part of your extended family.

  16. What a wonderful selection of pictures. I can't wait for the followup blogs, especially the GPS. I've had two. I fuss with them all the time. My first one was named Matilda and the present one is Jezebel.

Jezebel literally took us in circles around a Doctors building in Springfield MO. We passed it twice before I realized what was going on.

However Matilda took me to the front door of a restaurant in Ft. Worth TX. I was very impressed. I always get lost in FW. I hate to drive there.

Husband and I have been under the weather for 2 weeks; will get back to writing when I'm not doped and drugged. We were so sick we could not attend the funeral of my biological half brother in TX. In fact the family told us not to come....guess they did not want to share our bugs.

  17. The fotos are wonderful, especially the closeup of Keri. So glad it was such a successful trip.

Looking forward to subsequent blogs, especially on GPS. I have love/hate relationship with mine, named Jezebel who punished me in Springfield MO by having me go in double circles around my doctors clinic.

Husband and I are confined sick bay called home, going on two weeks. Missed funeral of my half brother who died on Xmas day.

When I'm not so drugged and doped, I be back with my electonic pen.

    Happy New Year!!!

  18. Amanda,
I am afraid I wasn't giving you a choice with the photos:) I'm pretty proud of my kin and hope I didn't bore everyone.

    Peter,
Thank you. I do live in a tiny house and I could never have gotten so many visitors in with out the web. Another good thing about web visitors is that I don't have to worry if my house is clean enough when they drop in.
It was such a thrill when you dropped in from New Zealand. Such a trip young man and I am so glad you made it. Your comments are post worthy, enormously entertaining.
Hope you, Laura and Ginger had a great holidays and are looking forward to the New Year.

    Barry,
Thank you Barry and the pleasure has been all mine. I need to go back on your posts to see how the storm effected you. Hope all is well in Yankee land. I thought of you as I bask in the balmy breezes. Yeah, I know that was uncalled for.
Happy New Year to you and the Mrs.

    Stitchin,
Thank you so much. That is so true. Sometimes we don't realize how much we miss people till we see them. The internet has cut the miles off but there is nothing like live action.

    Nitwit,
Oh dear, you were on the mend when I left :(
I will have to check your posts to see what has happened. I do hope you and hubby are finally mending now. Do hope you all have had caregivers while you have been sick. Please take care and don't push it.
Hope nurse Luckie has been good to you.
I am so sorry about the loss of your half brother Carol and that you were too sick to attend his funeral. I'm sure he was watching and wanted you to stay put.
Take care lady and be back soon.

  19. Betsy,
So you noticed that also?? Always was the runt, but throw that shrinking thing in also and it is really noticable. Good thing I don't have to whip them anymore.
My Arkansas shirt was the only "red" thing I had but since my blog is "Arkansas" Patti, that was pretty apropos.Always ready to plug this wonderful state.
Thanks, and my two little hired caregivers did a great job.

  32. Dear Madam Patti,

How wonderful and am so touched to see and read the spirit of your closeness and camaraderie within the family.

You have such a great close-knit family so palpable!

Finally, I got to see the whole bunch put together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle! The pictures make sense after those individual stories separately told.

Your Christmas presents in the form of those gorgeous babies are just magnificent. What a blessed Woman You Are!

Got tears in my eyes ...of happiness for you.

All the best and Happy New Year!
