RATS

I know those of you with bad backs have had this happen. Just when you think you are getting better, you re-injure the rascal.

Mowing the yard Saturday may have been a bad idea.

Always seems like the second time is worse than the first but I am pretty sure it is just my attitude that has changed.

What I do know is that sitting at my computer is no fun and seems to make it worse. So I am shutting the computer down till the back gets better.

I'll be back when my back is back. I'll miss you terribly.

  3. Oh, yes sweet Patti, I've been there and done that and I know how painful it is. I am so sorry you hurt your back again. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I will miss you too, but the important thing right now as you know is for you to get that back better. Hugs

  4. So sorry you re injured your back. Abe's doctor use to tell him, if it were possible for him to walk to work, he would recommend that. Sitting grinds the bones together while riding in a car. And he would also complain if it was feeling better than he re hurt it, said the second time was worse than the first time. Cool here this morning, but I know it will get warmer soon. Relax and take it easy.

  10. I'm sorry to read that you are in pain, Patti. I hope your back is feeling better soon. My chiropractor always recommended ice the first few days after an injury. We tend to want to do heat, but ice is the way to go. After a few days, alternating between ice and heat works too. Good luck with it.

  13. That is why I have a laptop sitting in a lift chair. I no longer have a desktop. My typing has deteriorated but my back is great. Recently I even cut my medication morning and night one half.

Works for me for 6 years now, but maybe not everyone.

  15. Patti, I hope yours heals quickly. I hurt my back again when I fell last Sunday at work and smashed my knee into the concrete floor. It threw my whole left side out - so I know how you feel. Hope we'll both be well soon.

  17. oh my goodness, you have had the worst luck recently, I know what a terrible thing a bad back is, when my back is bad I use an ice pack and then I lie flat on my stomach with my arms at me side till my back relaxes and the slowly I raise up on my arms but only a little. this seems to help me. I have a special chair I sit in and I use a cane when my back is bad for extra support. I hope you mend quickly. when you do check my blog for a special award I gave you.

  18. He Patti,
I'm mowing 3 weeks of "rain every day" grass" as I speak/write. Well kind of. Just came in for a drink and plopped down at the computer. Oh oh.... looks like rain again... bye bye and bye bye for as long as it takes, God speed..... I'll think of you as I'm out there pushing, right now.

  23. I thought you had a riding lawn mower? and where are the rats? I was hoping ot hear you ran over one. BTW - riding mowers work best when riden and lumbar support. I am sorry you have been hurt! Back pain is so irritating. I hope you continue to improve. Thinking about you....

  24. Grayquill,
Thanks for thinking about me. I do have a rider but my yard is not really a yard but a former pasture so it is bumpy and with hills that require leaning hard to starboard to keep it from tipping over.
Should have worn my back support. Next time---.
