SINCE YOU MADE THE TRIP

Gosh I am sorry you made the trip here for I have zilch. Hopefully, to keep the trip from being a total waste of mouse power, I would like to direct you to A Robert Brault Reader. Now he has almost a thousand followers so you might all ready be aware of him. He is new to me but is now a can't miss blog, usually a quick read.

This man is an original thinker that I occasionally borrow quotes from but recently he wrote such a wonderful post on his trip to France. At the end of his post, I realized suddenly I wanted to go to Paris and that has never been anywhere near my bucket list.

His original quotes however are the big draw for me.

"An old body is like an old building. Eventually its only reason for being is the employment of the maintenance staff."

“The only certain mercy in life is that someday the undertaker will do your hair in such a way that you will be glad you are dead”

“On the whole, I would not wish to live a dog's life, except for the times when you show up to help and you are told to go lie down.”

“If animals could talk, the world would lose its best listeners.”

“The definition of insanity, said Einstein, is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. And here I thought that was the definition of sex.”

“Today is shaping up as a good day with my pets. My dog came running to greet me and I have a 2:30 appointment with my cat.”

Just a sample of how the man's mind works.

Check him out if you want to have a chuckle or your mind exercised while I go try to think of a future post.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

  3. Sounds like a good read of some much needed short humor.

I have one in the making, but I am still in traveling mode. My husband as yet to realize how tired just trying to schedule and get common things done before each trip.

Today I should be washing clothes for Monday's trip to Little Rock, but have one to 2 medical appts and then he wants to go to Harrison to eat with a friend who will be leaving for his winter destination soon.

I guess I can sleep in the back seat.

I guess at least I can

  16. I'm not sorry I visited! I got a good laugh out of some of those quotes. For some reason the one about the undertaker and the bad hair do really made me smile (perhaps because of my lack of hair... I suppose the undertaker will just have to give me a wax and polish!).
Paris is a city that we would love to visit one day. It is amazing just how beautiful it looks. If you have sufficient internet speed, you can look at it on Google Earth and use street view to drop down to street level and have a look .. it's fantastic (OK, I know that is "sad" and I should get out more, but .... hey, it's more fun than watching the news on TV!).
    Thinking of you, P xx

My favorite thing is tiny islands just a few miles long that amazingly have humans and cars. How do they make a living?
    Think I will try Paris--thanks.

    Brighid,
Can't remember enjoying a World Series this much with my main team totally out of the running. This has a feel that would be hard to believe in a movie. Go Giants-Go Cody.

  23. 4BRemen2GMAhhh Paris. Yes that was on place I went to on one of my mother, daughter trips with my artistic daughter. She was amused by a local man who sat down at our patio table and began to flirt with me! She had not ever thought of a mom having admirers. We both still chuckle about that.
