MIA

Company from Ohio has arrived and for a while I will be Missing in Action.  Sis, my friend from the second grade, is here and lucky me, like my brother, she also brought her own house---er RV.  The great thing besides catching up and showing  off my lovely state is that I am officially relieved of yard duty.  I could really use the rest.

It just dawned on me that Sis and I  have been good friends for over 60 years but have only occasionally lived in the same state after the third grade.

Then when you consider what good friends Joan (my friend of 20 years that I recently lost) were, it makes one wonder if to be friends with me, it helps not be within eyesight of each other:))  Gosh, that makes all of you just perfect for the job. I'm so delighted you are there.

I won't be posting and will try to catch up with as many of your posts as possible in the early AM before she awakes.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.   See ya on the flip side.

  15. Have a fun time, Patti! Maybe sometime we will just show up and visit in our own home, but not too sure if I'll be doing the yard work, lol.

  16. Enjoy your sister. Time does end for us all. My very best friend from the second grade is in a nursing home in Texas. We kept in touch all these years rarely seeing each other.

But when we talked it was just like we picked up our last conversation.,

So when I tell you the 15 minutes I spent with her and her son last year in Texas at the nursing home as we started our trek to SD I would trade for anything in this world. I just sent her a birthday card with photos of our trip. I doubt it will mean a great deal as she is in some stage of Alzheimers, the Long Goodbye.

We went also to see my half-brother, too as his heart and life is rather nebulous, too.

    Enjoy and treasure.

  17. Take some advice from me - don't worry about blogging - spend time with your friend! It is so important. sandie

  18. Aww, thank you so much for stopping by with the good wishes.
Sandie is right, I should enjoy this time with my friend as we never know when we will get chance to spend time together again.
Sis is one of those "game for anything" types so we are having fun and staying busy.
I really do miss you all and wonder what you have been up to but I will see you after she goes back home and I can catch up.
    Enjoy your week.

  20. Enjoy your company. How great it must be to have friends of such long standing. Also enjoy the reprieve from yard work. You do realize, though, that it will still be there in a week?
