UPDATE

Quickie update. I haven't heard from the doctor yet but the technician said my tests looked good so I am taking his word and am pretty sure that no news from the doctor as good news.

After I left the hospital, I drove directly to McDonald's to quiet my growling stomach. Three days without solid food was enough!!! I broke all heart healthy rules and got a cheeseburger and fries. First red meat in over a year.

I was a bit amused by the noises I was making while wolfing down the tasty bad stuff. Oooh, ummm, groan, ahhhh.  Obviously distracted driving.

Kind of glad though that I got the order to go. Otherwise there would have been a bunch of people in McDonald's wanting what I was having.

**************
See--I can be brief.

Thanks, it was a relief. Probably all our meals would improve if we waited till we were hungry to eat.

Thanks, me too. Hope you are able to satisfy your need for grease. Or maybe better if you don't--but it sure tasted good.

  7. That McD's is bad stuff, but when ever I'm on a road trip I make sure there is no where else to eat.

It is a grease feast and normally I avoid that place like the plague. I was just crazy hungry and it was the closest.

  9. Bet that cheeseburger and fries DID taste good... I try not to eat that stuff either --but every once in awhile, I just have to have a hot dog/chili...... YUM... When I eat that, I feel like I've died and gone to heaven...ha ha

Hope your news IS all good news.. I am keeping you in my prayers.

  14. I get it. Today, after hearing a lecture from my endocrinologist on losing weight, and after having my A1C checked, I indulged by eating the most amazing hamburger I have ever tasted.

I'm glad to hear that the initial test reports are good.

  16. I'm a dedicated carnivore, so I try not to go very long without a good old burger. In fact, I'm planning to have one this weekend. Until then, it's chicken, chicken, chicken and maybe a little port,

Sure can relate to that chicken menu. I usually throw in turkey to break it up. Sigh.

  19. My goodness, this post really resonated with a lot of your commenters. I confess that I haven't eaten red meat or a burger in so many decades that I've lost the desire. But if I were as hungry as you were, that might have changed. :-)

    1. Djan,
I think most people of a certain age have had to give up something we love for health reasons. It becomes the forbidden food, thus so much tastier.

  20. Your hilarious thinking that your cheeseburger had red meat in it...I am not sure what is in those "cheeseburgers" but I do not think it can be described as real meat....just saying.
I am so glad for the good report.

    1. Ha ha, you are so right about the question of red meat. I once heard they were made from worms.
