UPDATE

Hi,

Just a quickie to let you know I am still on the right side of the grass. Seems I have been dealing with pneumonia for the past 3 weeks. Boy will that take it  out of you.
I am feeling better but just need to get some strength back. I am weak as a newborn right now but slowly improving. Hope to be back in the swing of things in a week or so.
Yes, I had the first pneumonia shot, just hadn't gotten the second one. Hope you all are current with your shots.   Pneumonia is not a fun time.
I have missed you all and hope to be back soon.
Stay well and safe.

  4. I didn't know there were shots for pneumonia, we get yearly flu shots here. Glad to hear you are improving at last, try not to rush things, you don't want a relapse.

  17. So glad you are feeling better. I had a 3 week stint just about the same time that you did ... not sure if it was flu, but no temp. so I didn't panic but I was sure weak as a kitten (like you.) I guess we old birds are too ornery to stay ill for long.

  18. Take it easy and pamper yourself for a while. My husband battled a bug for three weeks. The sickest I have ever seen him and it wasn't the flu. Hope you will be up and going strong again soon.

  22. Dear Patti, I've had pneumonia three times in the past five years. I did ultimately get that second shot that the ads talk about.

But what I want to tell you is that pneumonia leaves you so exhausted--and it's not for just a few days. That acute tiredness can last several weeks.

So please listen to your body and be gracious to yourself. Do only a little when you think you're cured and add a little each day. Don't swing right back into the thick of things. Peace.

  23. Hi Patti,
Sorry you have been ill, but very pleased that you are getting better again. It will take quite a while to get back to full strength after Pneumonia, but you will get there I am sure! :-) All the very best from us in NZ Pxxx

  26. Pneumonia is a tough cookie to deal with. Hang in there. I guess there is one good plus to old age..... I don't go out enough in the winter nor do I come in contact with people. Just me and the dogs. haha
Hopefully summer will hurry up and splash sunshine all over these winter blahs.

  30. So glad to hear that you're on the mend. And I've never had the pneumonia vaccine, but do get the flu shot each year. Doctor told me to be sure to stay away from people with an upper respiratory infection... said, 'sure... but I do have grandchildren.'

  31. I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better!

I don't know if it's pneumonia I have or what it is, all I know is I'm feeling very sick and have felt like this for about a week now.
