QUICK UPDATE

First off I want to thank the best commenters on all of Blogger for the wonderful and comforting comments you left on my last blog. I am overwhelmed by the kindness, encouraging and supporting  thoughts you so  graciously offered.  They really helped me over a rough spot.

I wish I had something concrete to report but I am still in the testing phase. Next one is a bone marrow test. Not even scheduled yet. It will be 30 days--from New Years Day till the 30th of this month before treatment will start. I tried to move things along but that seems to be the schedule. In the meantime I am wiped, weak and laying around like a lump.  Thankfully my support group is taking care of all the necessities.

The tentative diagnosis so far is CML--chronic myeloid leukemia. It is supposedly quite treatable. Can't wait to get started  and will have the energy to blog again I miss you..

THANK YOU, THANK YOU,  THANK YOU. YOU ARE THE BEST.

  1. Patti, that is the hardest part; waiting for treatment to start! I'm so glad that you've got a support system in place to help you with the essentials. And of course, all your blogging friends are here to support you from across the miles, wishing we lived closer so that we could be there in person to help you.

Thanks for the update. And of course we all understand that updates will be coming as you feel up to them. Feel the love and support coming your way from those of us across the miles.

  6. Thanks for the update, Patti. When a blogger friend (like yourself) stops blogging, I worry. So I'm glad that you're at least up to giving us an update on occasion. Sounds like you have a bit of a wait before more testing and treatment. I'm hearing more and more lately about how long it takes to get testing and treatment scheduled (not sure why this is). But know we're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Virtual hugs!

  7. Playing the waiting game is hard. I'm glad that you have a diagnosis and treatment is in sight.
I am playing the waiting game too. The hip surgery I hoped to have in January is scheduled for March 10. Then I'll have to contemplate knee surgery. I'm falling apart a little too rapidly.
    Hang in there.

  8. Patti, I thought we had an agreement that you post at 5 in the morning so I can be the first one to leave a comment... :^) I'm just kidding of course, and very happy to hear from you, my friend! I am sorry you are so weak right now, but what little news you do have sounds hopeful, at least. All we can do is take things one day at a time, and keep you in our prayers, you are certainly in mine. Love you lots.

  12. Thank you for the update, Patti. Been thinking of you often. Sounds like the ball is rolling (albeit slowly) towards CML treatment. Medicine has advanced wonderfully and I'm sure the professionals will have you back up and running smoothly for many, many years to come. In the meantime, you'll just have to lounge about, reading, playing games, listening to good music, watching movies and snacking on boxes of chocolates.
    Warm hugs, Florence.

  19. Dear Patti, at a time when anyone is feeling under the weather, sick, or physically challenged everything takes an effort and energy that perhaps we don’t have. So thank you so much for posting and catching us up. The word that just grabbed told of my heart was “treatable. “ The waiting must be so hard because knowing what you are dealing with helps with the stress. Just know that all of us are sending you love and positive thoughts and prayers and a deep seeded fault that all shall be well. From Dee Ready and the cats

We sure miss you. PS. I enjoyed your post from Sept 2013 about laying in your hammock while enjoying your neighbor's mower. Your least favorite sounds gave me a good chuckle. :^)
