JUST ODD STUFF

One of my blog buddies colored the shirt below via ice dyeing. Barbara from Baby Blogging Boomer  now has an Etsy Site, Pixiedustdyes where she displays her unique designs. Check it out if you have time. A great place for gift shopping or like me--buying for yourself. Lovely muted colors and priced right.

Also if you are shopping for some leather bracelets for  the man in your life or some lovely fused glass earrings for yourself, check out my friend's Jules Etsy site on my side bar.

I love the colors and while it is a little big for me, I plan to shape it.  Better a
little too large than a little too small. I had a better shot of me and the shirt but I just loved Minnie's expression in this one so it made the cut. Clearly she is thinking,"OMG, does she have ANY idea how big those jeans make her butt look?"
Ya gotta love the graphics. Humane Society-- "WOOF"
Callie had this cutie ?? cornered and it had collapsed into a full state of fake death but by the time I got Callie put away and my camera out, she had revived.
Clearly one scared Opossum. She did not even twitch or even appear to breathe while I walked up close for this picture. She soon disappeared on her own with nary a scratch on her.  Pretty sure she aided and abetted the raccoon in plucking all my ripe tomatoes from the vine. Live long and prosper my friend---somewhere else.
All you Yoga buffs, try this one. Downward facing cat by Minnie. She is literally folded in half and it is her favorite way to sleep. I wish I were that flexible.
Hum, since all of my siblings are pretty cool, does that mean the one on the right is me? Sigh.
Finally, this is why I put out 2 quarts of nectar per day. Sorry about quality. Shot through marginally clean window and screen. This is one of two feeders that quite often have all seats filled.  See-- if even Hummers can sit side by side to dine it is proof we all can get along when we just concentrate on the basics.
Hoping you all have a great week. I plan to.

  1. That was fun, wandering through those Etsy sites. I'll have to remember them for gift-giving time.
My hummingbirds seems to have moved on - a sign of fall coming? - I haven't had to replenish the nectar for two weeks.

    1. Marty,
Glad you enjoyed. I am still in full bore feeding here and will be for several weeks yet. Usually late October they are mostly gone.

  2. Haha, no I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at what Minnie said about your jeans. :D

Love the t-shirt, the colour suits you, and yes definitely better to be a bit too large than too small.

Being a crafty sort, you might want to try it yourself. It is an unusual process.

  4. What a great potpourri of stuff. I loved it all, and Minnie is definitely a yoga cat. All the hummers would make me so happy to see. We have them around here but most of them leave in the fall and return in the spring. :-)

I think so. She really sleeps like that most of the time. My hummers will be here for a while yet. They are fun to watch.

You know they wouldn't look so bad if they had hair on their tail. Yikes, sure wouldn't want any as boarders.

  7. What a great Monday morning post! Love the shirt, especially the color. Looks great on you :-)

Minnie is adorable. Wish we could all be that flexible. Makes my head hurt just thinking about getting into that body fold position!

I'm sure my hummers are headed your way. I told them about the great nectar you have. My hummers are all gone :-( Headed for the south where they will have warmer weather. When do you see the last of the hummers before winter comes?

  9. I think Minnie is saying, "MEOW! She's looking good!" You look great in bright colors - I remember your blog post about that. Too bad I'm such a gray/black person. That Possum looks scary.

Ha ha, I wish. Pretty sure that was a look of dismay on her face.
I think the possum was more scared of me than the other way around.

  10. Beautiful shirt/blouse. Love the colors and graphics.. That friend is quite talented... Hope she does well on Etsy..

Crazy how the opossum played dead.... I had never read that about them before...

LOVE your hummingbirds... WOW--you have a bunch. I had a few here but finally had to put up my feeders due to a gazillion BEES....

    Hugs,

    1. Betsy,
Oh, I wish I could have gotten a picture of the playing dead version. She was in the fetal position, tongue out and bald tail curled around the fence wire. They are experts at playing dead.

I hope you take a picture of you doing the downward facing cat:))
Ice dyeing seems relatively simple but you have to have color sense to pull it off. That is why I buy rather than create.

  13. Great pics! Especially the expression of your cat on the bed... priceless! As for possums, I'm one of the few that think they're rather cute. We get a lot of really young ones that come by at night.

I had to go with that pic just for her expression. It was a hoot.
Ya know, if they had hair on their tails it would improve the look. I think the young of anything--maybe not spiders--look cute.

  17. Oh Patti, I didn't realize that was you buying the Woof shirt. It does look good with your coloring. Thanks for the share about my Etsy shop. I've been making mostly bandanas lately but I bought a sweatshirt to practice on next.

  18. Forgot to say - living in an old neighborhood we have Possums and Raccoons that visit in the evening. There is a family of Possums that visit regularly and I saw a baby Possum in my flat tray bird feeder. Buddy also loves to raise cane when he "feels" them in the yard. The parent is bigger than him so I have to drag him in to save his life.

I am really enjoying my Woof shirt. I think doing a sweatshirt would be cool. Can't wait to see it.
I think baby anything looks cute and somehow I am not uncertain that this gal doesn't have a family somewhere. Yep, I'd keep Buddy away. They tend to play dead rather than fight but those teeth look fearsome and he is a little guy.

  19. That shirt is GREAT! Love the photo of you in it. Opossums do some good works. They help keep the Lyme disease tick population low. It's good to have them around. Nice to see how many cooperative hummingbirds you have there. We still have one hummer who chases all the other hummers away. Sigh.

  20. Your hummers- wow! I have four...just four..hmmm. Now I think three of those have left because one just sits there and stares left, then right, then left, then right- LOL!! I LOVE your shirt. I will definitely be checking that out. Have a great evening, and watch out for that mean ole possum..they do have a ferocious bite!

  22. Hi Patti, I'm happy to be back with my blog friends after my summer hiatus. Love the shirt...I've never heard of ice dyeing before. You are a beautiful lady and that Minnie is so cute with the caption you gave her. Ha! I know my kitties were certainly say that about me! lol! Love seeing the hummers at the feeder. I see a few around my flowers but haven't fed them in recent years. They do keep you busy making nectar! Have a great weekend.
